Joe Fargis - American Showjumper Born the 2nd April 1948 joe Fargis was one of the leading American showjumping riders from the 1970`s onwards representing the USA at many major championships in 1984 he won the gold medal at the Los Angeles olympics riding the thoroughbred jumping horse Touch of Class. Joe Fargis

Joseph Halpin Fargis IV (born April 2, 1948) is an American show jumping champion. In 1984 Fargis participated in the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles where he won a gold medal in individual jumping with the mare Touch of Class.

He participated on the American winning team in the Team Jumping in 1984, and again in 1988 in Seoul where he finished second while riding the Irish bred Mill Pearl. He now lives and trains in Middleburg, Va and has been doing various clinics and lessons
