Bertie Hill
Bertie Hill was a British equestrian who competed at three Olympic Games. He won a gold medal at the 1956 Stockholm games and also won a number of other international trophies in three-day eventing. Hill was a West Country farmer and Devon`s point-to-point champion. He helped Great Britain to a team gold in Stockholm in 1956, placing twelfth in the individual eventing competition . After retiring from competition, Hill and his wife opened a riding school on Exmoor where they trained several future international riders, including Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. Hill passed away in 2005 .
