How special is this mare! Encina is from the renowned farm of Luis Arenas in Mexico that has produced many, many National Champions. So gentle and possessing such a loving motherly spirit, Encina is the matriarch of the farm. Her conformation is exquisite with a short powerful back, hook high set neck and powerful pushing hind end. Encina is heterozygous gray so her foals have been all colors. She is the dam of miracle foal Augusta, the sweetheart Rosina, and Pamina. Truly a Grand Dame. Encina is the dam of Augusta, Rosina and Pamina. SHALEM IA - Maestro x Amoria de la Corazon, 1999 Pure Spanish homozygous black This stunning mare is tall and elegant with long sweeping strides. Shalem is just over 16 hands barefoot. She has lovely straight legs and movement with a lovely long shoulder and hip. Her head and neck are gorgeous. This mare carries very rare mare lines and is a very valuable genetic storehouse. Shalem also is a rabicano, possible sabino influenced color being heavily roaned with some mottling of the skin. She is bred to Regaliz for a 2006 foal. Dam of the incredibly moving colts, Arturo and Rodolfo. Shalem`s foals have been carbon copies of each other with an amazing amount of push, lift and suspension. Their legs hang in the air and the looseness and ease with which they cover a huge amount of ground is really something to watch. They have all sold very quickly while we are waiting for a filly for ourselves! COSTOSA - Aureolo VII x Caprichosa N - 1999 Pure Spanish grey This is our famous Costosa, daughter of the Olympic dressage Andalusian Aureolo VII. This filly has such perfect movement it`s stunning to watch. All the elevation and lift of a correct Spanish horse yet with extension and suspension that will make your jaw drop. An athlete from the second she was born this filly could do pirouettes and clean tempi changes from one day old. She can also coil and spring into airs above the ground with such power it`s staggering. This filly has all the attributes that made her sire the international horse he was. She also has the intelligence, character and drive that make us think Costosa is truly capable of competing at the level of her sire. Costosa gave birth to a stunning grey colt on 6/6/05. This colt is for sale. Available for 2006: Embryos off this champion mare! Noted competitive trainers and handlers have called Costosa’s trot “in a class by herself.” If you are looking to breed competitive dressage horses and need to add incredible suspension and extension few others can match here is your chance. Costosa will be available to be bred to the stallion of your choice and the embryo shipped to you or a recipient farm. Contact Tintagel for details of this incredible opportunity. AUGUSTA: "The Miracle Foal" - Malandante 1 x Encina - 1999 Pure Spanish bay sabino Here she is, the miracle everyone is talking about. This is the purebred pinto filly out of the very special mare Encina. Augusta is the new cornerstone for the breeding program here at Tintagel and the story of her arrival is truly a miraculous event. Augusta started her show career at age two and causes quite a sensation wherever she goes. The color on this filly is so rare; she may be one of the most priceless of Andalusians. ESMERALDA MC Venidero MC x Historia TG - b. 2001 Pure Spanish chestnut sabino This stunning chestnut is a 3/4 sister to our stallion Diego and we like him so much we bought this little girl at three hours old! She has all the square typey conformation of her dam with the height and substance of her sire. Emme has already started a successful show career and and is bred to Regaliz for a 2006 foal, guaranteed to be black! Emme is starting her training under saddle and is proving an incredibly willing and soft partner. She is so well balanced she took to riding right away and enjoys her work immensely. In fact you can see Emme smiling and beaming when you dismount and she takes extreme pride in being a successful riding horse as well as having proved herself an outstanding broodmare. We would love to make Emme a full time riding horse but her first foal so was phenomenal that option probably isn`t going to happen! Emme had a black colt on 4/7/05 that is sold. And what a colt! Ramiro`s gaits are so extraordinary nearly everyone who watched him moved tried to buy him. Lucky for repeat buyer Cindy Meens of Storm King Andalusians in Colorado,(Cindy bought Marcello from us in 2004) she snapped Ramiro up quickly! Emme is bred back for a full sibling in 2006. If it is filly we will probably be retaining her for ourselves! With Emme being a almost full sibling to Diego we are so excited as this should bode well for what the Regaliz daughters bred to Diego may look like. PAMINA Regaliz x Encina b. 2003 Pure Spanish bay sabino Pamina is being retained by us to be bred to Diego and she is the spitting imagine of her mother. Encina often throws very large sport horse type foals but this time she threw herself to a "t"! Massive baroque body complete with hook neck, compact form, mom`s exact head and of course mom`s pretty white markings. She`s sweet and laid back and wants nothing more in the world than lots of food and to give everyone wet sloppy kisses across the face. Nothing could buy Pamina from me, I`ve waited too long to have an exact replica of Encina to replace her. Big baroque butter balls, I love `em! Stay tuned to watch this very special filly mature and follow in her half sister Augusta`s hoof prints. CAVA Gaditano IV x Sagitaria 1 b. 2002 Pure Spanish palomino sabino Cava was just imported from Spain by us to be bred to Diego. Cava just found her way onto my computer screen one day and I just about fell off my chair. She was the spitting image of Encina and for good reason! Researching her bloodlines I found that she had some of the same lines as Encina, and carrying the same sabino genes and WONDERFUL personality. Gentle and demure, yet very much the lady and oh so regal. Cava has that old world massive baroque body with short hook neck and fits into a perfect square. Her motion is high and round with incredibly powerful push and thrust off the hocks. She will be bred to Diego in 2006 for a 2007 foal. In the meantime we will be training Cava to saddle and enjoying her company. I am certain Cava’s coming here was no accident. Even though I have daughters of Encina, this is the closest replacement in bloodline I could have found. She will take her honored place here as prima broodmare. DIBUJADA Heroe MAC x Botadora IV b. 2003 Pure Spanish chestnut sabino Jada is a new filly for us as we wanted some outside blood to add into the program. Jada is almost all old Terry blood with her dam line being from old Military. Jada’s type and growth is very different from our other mares and it should make a nice niche with my heavy Military stallions. Terry blood like this take forever to mature and are very slow growing! Jada will not be truly mature until she is almost eight years old. She has a very lady-like, inquisitive nature and long straight strides. Jada is the only mare I have from these bloodlines and we look forward to seeing what she produces. v CAPRICHOSA N Caprichoso S x Bendita T b. 1986 Pure Spanish grey Daughter of the 1984 National Champion Stallion, Cappy has bold, straight powerful movement and is a natural for dressage. Cappy rides like a stallion with incredible collection and power you feel like you`re sitting on dynamite yet the power is so easily guided. She is the favorite trail horse of the barn because of her surefootedness and quiet ride. Nothing spooks Cappy! She is so good she was the one chosen for a spot on an Animal Planet segment when they needed a horse for a stunt rider. Read about this more under our specialty horses section. Cappy is the dam of the incredible Costosa that we`ve retained for riding and breeding OPERISTA MC Oriano MC x Oradora IX b. 1995 Pure Spanish bay under grey Operista has heavy Military Maluso breeding on both sides of her pedigree, which produces that fabulous temperament and harmonious appearance. "Rita" is such a fabulous mare, easy going, correct and has thrown some fabulous foals! She has straight, elegant movement and a lovely expressive manner. Her dam was bay so Rita is heterozygous for color with no red recessives and the ability to throw black. Operista is the dam of Diva, Luciano, Musetta, Marguerite, Marcello and Masetto. Operista is now sold but her 2005 colt Masetto is still available and her new owners will be offering her 2006 foal she is carrying by Diego for sale |
