Paddy McMahon

Sad news as the showjumping world says goodbye to one of the worlds true gentlemen, Paddy McMahon who passed away on Easter Sunday at the age of 87. Patrick "Paddy" McMahon (born 5th December 1933 in Derby, England) was one of the worlds leading show jumping riders, McMahon won the European Show Jumping Championships in 1973 on Pennwood Forge Mill, beating German Alwin Schockemöhle. In the same year he was voted in third place for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award.
