Once you have found your perfect Friesian horse the process of importation begins. It starts with a stringent veterinary examination, including blood tests and x-rays to ensure that your horse is in optimum health. The results are then carefully reviewed before an export certificate can be issued.
Once testing is complete and approved your horse will be transported, via cargo jet airline, to one of the three USDA Quarantine Centers in the United States. After 48 hrs your horse can then be released. Mares over 2 years of age then have to undergo a further 2 weeks CEM Quarantine Ė Stallions approximately 6 weeks.
If you prefer not to import then donít forget that we have a yearly selection of high quality colts and fillies available for you to choose from. If you would like to visit Meadows Ranches Friesians please call in advance to make an appointment as our busy schedule means that we may not always be available to welcome visitors without arrangement.
