Cheltenham Races

Cheltenham Races is the undisputed home of the National Hunt Racing, set in a stunning natural amphitheatre nestled in the heart of Gloucestershire just outside Cheltenham in the village of Prestbury.

Cheltenham Races hosts 16 fixtures annually but is best known for its world famous National Hunt Festival held over 4 days in March and attracts a staggering 65,000 spectators to watch the best horses and jockeys from Britain, Ireland and Europe.

Cheltenham Races has 2 courses, the old course and the new course and each track has certain races held on them. The Champion Hurdle is always held on the old course likewise the Cheltenham Gold Cup is always held on the new course which is slightly trickier as there`s a longer run in for steeplechases. The gold cup is the most prestigious National Hunt race in the world and is run on the final day of the March festival. The gold cup has been running at Cheltenham Races since 1819 and the first winner Spectre won 100 guineas for his owner, running on a 3 mile flat course on Cleeve Hill which still overlooks the course today.

In addition to the racing Cheltenham Races has some of the best corporate hospitality facilities you will find at any racecourse in the country. There is a wide programme of events throughout the year ranging from concerts, to music and trade shows. You can also have the perfect venue for a major conference, small business meeting or a private party all held here at Cheltenham Races.
