Jean-Marc Nicolas is a leading French showjumper who has represented France on many occasions, born the 1st of August 1951 he has ridden many talented horses including Modesto, Mador and Exploit of Roulard.

Jean-Marc was born in Casablanca on 1 August 1951 into a family of architects. In 1962 he discovered the desire to ride, and it was the "thunderbolt". A year later, his club manager (Horse Club of St Georges, Villeneuve Loubet), P. Boucan, rescues a mare 6 years, Isoll Bella offers the slaughter and the father of Jean-Marc purchasing. Jean-Marc will make his first competition in Cagnes-sur-Mer and won both races!

n 1969, he participated in his first Nations Cup in Lisbon. On the advice of Marc de Balanda, Jean-Marc will settle for 4 years with Mr. Rozier. Then off again to Nice where Marc de Balanda hiring as a Trooper for a year and a half.

In 1973, he married Isabella (daughter of John), they have four children: Jean-Philippe, Caroline, Cecilia and Celine. Marc de Balanda became technical director of Haras Bréviaires and Jean-Marc joined him as a trooper. At this time, Bamboula succeeds Isola Bella. Jean-Marc realizes that there is no professional future in the HN.

Thanks to Marc de Balanda, he met Eolelbert ohmer (a big seller Allemant), and goes to work for him in Germany. He stayed six years. During this period he met Gilbert Doerr, just ask him to work as a rider.

The victory for Team France ( Mador, Galoubet, Beacon C of Faolo Escla). Mador is a cloud and keeps more good performances (1980: wins Nations Cup, Aachen, Londchamp, Liege, selected for Moscow but boycotted. 1981: wins Nations Cup, Hickstead, Rome + GP) ... But just Donaueschingen (where it hurts in the triple) one week before the European championships. And there, Mador refused three times and was eliminated. This is the end of the myth Mador.

Jean-Marc moved a year to his account in Germany, but France lacks, and he moved to in Damartin Serve.

In 1983he separated from Isabella (marriage after 10 years) and met Geraldine Dillon (daughter of Ireland`s Ambassador to France) with whom he marira ten years later and had a son, Christopher.

Contest Cergy, Jean-Marc meets a little mare he noticed right away, Midway St. Paer. It was quickly purchased by good customers by Jean-Marc, Mr. and Mrs. Berard.

"It was spectacular, an incredible desire!" Rocordwonen gains in 1989 and 90, leading rider at Bercy, two World Cup finals (Paris and Tampa).

In 1996, Claude Lambert (owner of horses GP) arrives and says Caloubet du Rouet, Jean-Marc. Together, they will de France champion 7 years, 900,000 Fr accumulate gains and finish 2nd in CSIO Madrid Grand Prix, and first Nations Cup in Lisbon, and Mechelen.

Coming October 30 96, Jean-Marc horse falls and breaks a leg. This was already a bad time (errors construction of the armory were expensive, a control current fiscal, etc. ...), and leg broken only made matters worse! Jean-Marc struggled in vain, the money did not return, the farm has been seized and sold. There were only C. Lambert assigned at the time Vondéen (3rd GP de Paris, 2nd World Cup Geneva, 5th GP Stuttgart, 12th in the final World Cup Helsinki) .

Jean-Marc discovers Vondéen, a great horse to ride but very late, it was a passion for 2 years. Jean-Marc then moved to Marie-Martine seton "She welcomed me with open arms. Having won 99, the World Cup qualifier with Caloubet Oviedo, C. Lambert withdrew his horses.

It is also the time Remember III, with whom Jean-Marc will be the sixth World Cup GP Dortmund.

Olympic mount of Jean Marc Nicolas, Mador was the winner of many grand prix`s and show jumping events. Matador was a member of the 1980 French olympic team as well as the 1981 French Team at the European show jumping championship.
