It’s a fact, content is king. Even those who don’t have a web presence are aware of this. Articles quench the thirst for knowledge and provide many other benefits, as well. They are also perfect content for blogs and provide you the opportunity for your blog/site to rank highly in the search engines. Articles, particularly when used with a blog, provide the opportunity for you to gain your visitors trust, establish your credibility and make some sales.

One way to ensure your site/blog ranks high in the search engines is by using relevant keywords and keyword phrases in your title of your site/blog and in the articles you submit to directories. Writing informative articles can attract targeted visitors from other sites, increase your credibility, establish you as an expert and build trust with your audience. Visitors will begin to tell their family, friends and peers about your great new site or blog, resulting in a larger volume of traffic for you.

Even though we’ve determined the importance of articles, there is one dilemma though. Not many people enjoy writing articles. Most site/blog owners, myself included would much rather spend time doing other things and if you’re like me, you don’t have the resources to hire a ghostwriter every time you need to post an article.

So what a site/blog owner to do?

If you really hate writing and you can’t spend the cash for someone to do it for you, then don’t. You can get plenty of free articles in the public domain. Public domain articles are informational articles that are freely available. You are free to use them however you like. Just remember to use articles which are relevant to your site/blog. The downside? Since these articles are free for anyone to use, others may be using them as well. And since originality is key, this could present a problem for you. Another issue with public domain articles is that you’ll probably have to edit them to insert more keywords and keyword phrases relevant to your niche.

You could also allow other sites/blogs of similar nature submit articles to your site. You’d really only want to use this method to augment your existing content, since the articles appearing on your site/blog would lead to another site/blog Hence, the importance of writing your own articles cannot be overstated. Articles are a great way to improve your page rank by building important one way links to your site/blog.

If you really don’t want to write, there are a good many part time writers out there who won’t charge you an arm and a leg who’ll write you a good article with all the keywords and keyword phrases you need and that people are searching for. This is an investment that could be well worth it. Since you’ll own the copyrights, you can use these articles any way you like and are another way to build your credibility and become an expert.
