Born 21st June 1981 Simon Delestre is a French showjumping riding and is regularly ranked in the world top rider listings. His father Marcel Delestre was also an international showjumer and Simon has followed in his fathers footsteps. He had success from an early age being crowned junior French champion and winning a team bronze in junior European championships, he also won individual gold medal at the European championships as a young rider. Simon Delestre

Simon, born June 21, 1981 in Metz, was from his childhood immersed in the world of equestrian sports. His father was a competitor and Marcel Simon saw the show grounds before he could walk.

His choices sports as a child were multiple but it was a meeting with his fetish pony Panama du Cassou, owned National Stud, which started his early career. The pony was generous but difficult. Bring the pony to high level and get the results that we know already gave an overview to Simon on the amount of work necessary for this sport.

He led a parallel education that his parents were anxious (Bac S obtained in 1999) and, thanks to its good organization, it was also Junior Champion of France the same year. The songs are chained (European Champion Young Rider Team in 2000. But then had to find his place among the elderly. His work, his talent and his determination did the rest. He earned the trust of its owners and his desire to always do better and go higher and higher, never leave him. his progress in the global ranking of riders proves it.

The big class of the day in Rome on the global champions tour was claimed by French rider Simon Delestre riding the chestnut gelding Chesall Zimequest, earning himself €30,000. After the first round there were 8 clears going into the jump off making it a competetive affair, with 6 horse and rider combinations jumping clear again against the clock.
