Nick Skelton and Big Star Win Gold In Rio

Today Nick Skelton with his super horse Big Star fullfiled a life time dream and claimed an individual olympic gold medal at the Rio olympics, Nick Skelton an olympic veteran aged 58 has represented team GB at seven olympics and with Big Star was a member of Great Britains 2012 olympic gold medal winning team in London.

Nick Skelton and Big Star were first to go in a competetive jump off against some great riders and horses and he knew he had to set a tough test for the other combinations to follow, with a fast clear round in the final round, error`s were forced from the other horse and riders that followed, the only other clear round was Peder Fredricson from Sweden who took the silver medal.

Bronze was Eric Lamaze from Canasa riding Fine Lady who had a faster time than Nick Skelton and Big Star but with a fence down dropped them down to bronze.

Louise Saywell and Feigtling Win Ladies At Scope Festival

Louise Saywell was on fine form today at Scope Festival of showjumping where she rode a fantastic double clear beating some of the UK`s leading lady riders to claim the £1,200 first prize. Louise was riding the talented BWP wamblood Feigtling who is sired by the talented jumping stallion Chicago Z, together the partnership jumped a classic clear round beating second place the young rider Chloe Winchester who was riding Synique.

After 12 clears in the first round the jump off was always going to be a competitive affair with 9 horse rider combinations jumping a second clear round in the jump off.

Felix Hassmann Win BMW Triocar Class In Gijon

Felix Hassmann was on winning form in Gijon claiming the BMW Triocar class, riding his tallented horse SL Brazonado beat second place Argentinian Luis Pedro with his mare Abunola, third place was Belgian rider Donaat Brondeel with his horse Breemeersen Adorado while fourth place was Alvarez-Buylla Rodríguez from Spain riding Zando.

Molly Ashe and Cocq A doodle Claim Victory in Maui Jim Welcome Class

With a prize fund of 34,600 Canadian dollars the Maui Jim Welcome Class at the Langley international horse show was well contested with 54 starters, a strong first round saw only 4 horse and rider combinations jump clear and of the four horses in the jump-off no combination could jump clear again. Molly Ashe and Cocq A doodle were the fastest four faulters with fellow American rider Andrew Ramsay and Stranger coming second, third place was Mexican rider Antonio Maurer riding Cartier who had 8 faults in the jump off.
