Mennell Watson

Mennell Watson is a British showjumper who has been competing successfully internationally since he was 18 years old. Together with his partner Helen Van Heyningen, Mennell Watson runs a competition and stud farm in the middle of the country on the outskirts of Solihull under the name of Euro Sport Horse. Euro SPort Horse have bred and produced numerous horses and horses bred by Mennell and Helen can often be seen at many prestigious shows all around the world.

In 1983 Mennell Watson rode Charlie Brummel at HOYS and won the Foxhunter final, Over his career Mennell Watson has had lots of horses, other horses include Decoded winner of the speed horse of the year at HOYS, grand prix winner Back In Business, Halida Du Rouet winner of the Grade C championship at HOYS, Uptons LB who Mennell was shortlisted for the 1996 Olympics.

Currently Mennell Watson has two outstanding stallions, both bred at Euro Sport Horse, Whisper in the Wind and Outcast by jumping and winning grand prix`s. Below you can see a Video of Whisper in the Wind winning at the horse of the year show.

Uptons LB


Competed by Mennell Watson, Uptons LB was one of the leading horses in the UK in the early 90`s and together with Mennell were shortlisted for the 1996 Olympic games. Uptons LB is a traditional Irish sport horse, sired by the great Clover Hill, born in 1996 over the last several years Uptons LB has been happily retired at Mennell`s yard in Solihull.

Back In Business


Back In Business was bred by Helen Van Heyningen, out of her mare Gordons Twist who she jumped in grand prix`s with a great deal of success. Back In Business is a son of Geoff Glazzard`s successful showjumper Its The Business and as one of his earliest progeny helped show him as such a good breeding stallion.

Back In Business was competed by Helen`s partner Mennell Watson, together Back In Business & Mennell jumped in numerous grand prix`s and AIT`s, one of there best results was winning a Portugal grand prix.

Decoded


Decoded is a mare sired by grand prix jumping stallion Didi. Competed by Mennell Watson Decoded was a renowned speed horse, among there wins was the speed horse of the year at HOYS. On her retirement from the showjumping ring Decoded became a broodmare at euro sport horse and has produced some exceptional progeny who are showing themselves to also be talented showjumping horses.
